Beaver, Oregon
Logging & Land Clearing Project

Project Summary:

This project involved logging and full land clearing across approximately 70 acres of timberland for a dairy farmer expanding his operation. Rieger Logging felled, yarded, and marketed the merchantable timber, then transitioned directly into land clearing — pulling stumps, piling logging slash and brush, and burning it clean. Within a few months, the farmer planted his first crop of corn on land that had previously been standing timber.

Project Details:

The Beaver project demonstrates Rieger Logging’s ability to manage large-scale logging and land clearing operations from start to finish — and deliver results that create real, lasting value for the landowner.

A local dairy farmer was growing his herd and needed more acreage to produce feed to support that expansion. He had roughly 70 acres of timberland that he wanted converted to farmland, and he needed a contractor who could handle both the logging and the land clearing under one roof. We were glad to take it on.

The first phase of the project focused on timber harvesting. Our crew felled the merchantable timber, yarded the logs to the landing, and marketed them to the appropriate mills — maximizing the value of the timber on the landowner’s behalf before a single stump was pulled.
With the timber removed, we moved directly into land clearing. Stumps were pulled, and the logging slash and brush were gathered into piles and burned, clearing the ground efficiently and thoroughly. The scale of a 70-acre clearing operation requires careful coordination and the right equipment — both of which we brought to the job.

The results spoke for themselves. Within a few months of project completion, the farmer had his first crop of corn growing on ground that had been standing timber just a season before. That’s the kind of turnaround that makes a real difference for a working farm operation.
